Allegedly, the first white man to see Bryce Canyon looked at the hundreds of hoodoos - tall thin rock pillars - and said:’ Hell of a place to lose a cow’. The pink pillars with their white limestone caps fill a natural amphitheatre that is a spectacular site. I did my only below the rim hike here, to Queen’s Garden, and was very proud of myself. It was hot and dusty, and the last few switchbacks of the path coming out hurt!
The vertical lines were begging for a bargello patchwork.
