The enormous pottery candlesticks made by Robert Welch, dedicated to Giles of Sempringham and placed in Lincoln Cathedral were the inspiration for this appliquéd sketch book cover. The candlesticks were coloured with Markal sticks and embroidered, then placed behind or top of the ground fabric.
